Custom-made furniture in Bali

Bali is known for its vibrant arts and crafts scene, and you can find a variety of talented artisans who create custom-made furniture. Whether you're looking for unique pieces for your home or business, Bali offers a range of options to suit different tastes and budgets. Here are some steps you can take to find and commission custom-made furniture in Bali:

  1. Research and explore local artisans: Start by researching and identifying local furniture makers and artisans in Bali. You can look for recommendations from locals, check online directories, visit local furniture stores and workshops to get an idea of the craftsmanship and styles available, or read our Invest in Bali Guide (Metal, stone, wood, terrazzo etc Suppliers pages 71-72).

  2. Visit furniture showrooms and workshops: Bali has numerous furniture showrooms and workshops where you can view the craftsmanship and quality of their work. By visiting these places, you can see the range of furniture styles, materials, and finishes they offer. It also gives you an opportunity to meet the artisans and discuss your specific requirements (Furniture suppliers pages 73-74).

  3. Discuss your requirements: Once you have identified a few furniture makers or workshops that appeal to you, reach out to them to discuss your specific requirements. You can either visit their workshop in person or communicate through email or phone. Provide them with details such as the type of furniture you want, dimensions, preferred materials, and any specific design elements or inspirations you have in mind (Decor / Homeware pages 75-79).

  4. Request for portfolio or samples: Before commissioning custom-made furniture, it's a good idea to request the artisans' portfolio or ask for samples of their previous work. This will give you a better sense of their style, quality, and attention to detail (Other Suppliers pages 80-81).

  5. Discuss pricing and timeline: Talk to the artisans about pricing and timeline expectations. Custom-made furniture can vary significantly in price depending on factors such as the complexity of the design, materials used, and the artisan's skill level. Ensure that you are clear about the cost and delivery time before proceeding (In total 39 trusted suppliers pages 67-81).

  6. Provide feedback and revisions: Once you have agreed on the design, materials, and pricing, the artisans will start creating your custom-made furniture. Stay in touch with them throughout the process, providing feedback and discussing any necessary revisions to ensure that the final product meets your expectations.

  7. Delivery or pickup: Finally, arrange for the delivery or pickup of your custom-made furniture. Depending on the size and complexity of the piece, it may be shipped to your location or you might have to make arrangements for transportation yourself.
